Georgia politician Rep. John Lewis stated that he gets provoked out in the public, reminiscing a particular story when he boarded a plan where somebody was yelling “Trump!” at him.
“I was coming back to Washington on Sunday night,” Lewis stated. “I was on a flight from Atlanta. And I’m walking down the aisle and the gentleman said as loud as he could, ‘Trump!’ So I didn’t — I just kept walking. I didn’t say anything.”
“And sometimes I’m walking in the airport in different places. I guess [people think] they’re getting to me or harassing me. But they don’t understand… I’ve been called many, many things. But I’m not going to let anything get me down. I’m going to keep walking, keep moving.”
Lewis worked personally with Dr. Martin Luther King in the seasons of the social freedoms advancement. On the show, he discussed his employment in the improvement and points of view that have driven his lifetime’s work.
Booker and Lewis, the past summer composed a sit in the front of the US Capitol. The 40-minute gathering appeared to show ѕomething of a bond between the two authorities.
“You are my hero,” Booker stated, expressing gratitude toward Lewis for being a role model for him. Lewis answered, “I simply attempt to help out.”
